Harry qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1974, having trained in a small professional practice. Shortly after qualifying, he left practice to spend several years cutting his teeth in industry and in commerce, developing commercial skills not frequently found in practice. His significant achievements include creating a corporate communications group and grooming it from formation to sale to an AIM listed group.

As one of the founding partners of Grant Harrod Parkinson, Harry emphasises the need for practitioners to work as business advisors, providing hands on support and advice. In addition he has developed particular skills advising clients on the advantages of Limited Liability Partnerships.

Married to Barbara, they have three adult children. When not at work, Harry is active in his local and national religious community, playing bridge, although strictly of the kitchen variety, and enjoying the fruits of Barbara’s efforts in the garden.
