Stuart began his professional career in the insolvency sector before transferring to general practice and qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1997. He went on to complete a Masters degree in Accounting and shortly thereafter qualified as a Chartered Accountant.  Becoming a partner in 2003, he merged his practice with Michael Lerman in 2007 to form Lerman Jacobs Davis, one of the predecessor firms to GHLD.

Having now been in practice for over 25 years, Stuart has built up a wealth of experience in accounting and tax for both businesses and individuals. He also has significant experience in audit and provides essential business and tax advice to clients in a number of different sectors, primarily based in London and the South East.

With a specialism in Trusts and Estates, having also qualified as an associate of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Stuart advises clients on inheritance tax and its mitigation. He is an expert in the use of and benefits of trusts, particularly from a tax planning perspective, as well as dealing with estate management and will planning.

Married to Naomi, they have two children. Stuart’s interests, aside from his family, are mostly sport related, including membership of the MCC. He enjoys keeping fit (cycling to the office whenever possible), has taken part in several triathlon events and has successfully run the London Marathon. His other interests are reading, travel and learning foreign languages, when he has the time.
